​​​The Stages’ Arts Residency
Bring the transformative impact of professional arts education to your school or academy with Stages’ Arts Residencies. Our team features master’s-level teaching artists who have worked extensively in New York City schools. All coursework is thoughtfully aligned with the NYS Next Generation Learning Standards for Theater and ELA, offering a curriculum that is both creative and academically rigorous.

Residency Options for 2025/26

Fall and Spring Residencies: Over the course of twelve weeks, students engage in an immersive artistic journey that culminates in a celebratory final performance. Whether it’s Shakespearean scenes, original plays, short films, or other creative projects, students proudly showcase their hard work. Families, teachers, and classmates are all invited to join in honoring their achievements. achievements.

Full Year Residency: The full-year experience culminates in the Stages’ Performing Arts Festival, where schools from across the community come together for a dynamic celebration of student productions, films, and scenes. Throughout the year, students develop foundational skills, collaborate with peers, and gain confidence as they prepare for and participate in their final presentations.

After-School Residency: Our After-School Residency offers 12- or 25-week sessions, bringing professional arts education to your after-school program. Led by skilled teaching artists, these classes build creative skills and culminate in a final performance or project, just like our in-school residencies. Flexible scheduling lets you integrate quality arts learning into your school’s extended day.

Program Structure
A dedicated teaching artist will visit your school or academy one day per week, on a schedule that works for you. Each artist meets with three or more sections for 45–55 minute class periods. Every curriculum moves from foundational concepts to hands-on application, with each age group participating in a unique, project-based culminating activity.

Residency programming starts at $5,150, with discounts available for additional classes.

Grants and Foundational Support
We provide supporting materials and guidance for schools interested in co-authoring grants or exploring arts funding opportunities.
